Default Xunlai agent storage modifications

1) allow players to purchase additional slots
2) let us put a price for everything in storage. no price means not for sale. if somebody willing to buy at price we set then it sells.
3) the money gets added to the cash we have in storage minus commission.
4)allow anyone to go to any xunlai agent, search for and buy items.

1- great idea, and would add an outlet for money (limited outlet, but make the slots expensive, like 4 for 1 plat or 2 plat)
2- also great idea, takes care of the commonly requested shop/merchant/auction issue... except that at every xunlai there would be hundreds of items
3- great idea for another money outlet for the game
4- okay idea... I think it would be better if their was a special market district (as in 'part of town' not 'server') within each city where npc's set up, 1 to sell only runes, another only dyes, another only armors, another only axes/swords, another staves/wands... you get the idea. click on a merchant:

-list of all item groups (all of exact match items stack, similar items are near each other) Below each item stack is the average price of all items in the stack. Click one stack:

-list of all exact match items, arranged from cheapest to most expensive. This would induce competition for pricing since I could easily see that I shouldn't buy Joe-Blow's black dye for 3.8k when I can buy Shary Mary's for 500G. I think this would also make the market a much more interesting aspect of the game since you actually have to think through and struggle in the economy, whereas now it's more a game of "how much can you get away with/ can you find somebody to buy it for this price."

EDIT: perhaps the first money sink would be to buy a row of 4 "sale" slots for items, so that you wouldn't accidentally sell items you didn't want to you could buy 4 slots to go below your regular storage (broken by a small space) with a number to set at each slot, visible below the slot. Then you could buy other slots later to a total of 20 sale slots to compliment your 20 regular slots. If you wanted to use the sale slots for storage you could, simply set that stack of purple dyes to 20p each and then you could be sure nobody buys them And if someone does, celebrate.

the reason for the last suggestion is because it would be easiest to program the searches from the same interface.

it disperses the buying and selling to different zones at the convenience of the player.

it should also reduce the time a player has to spend buying and selling.

i like your point about separating the no sell items from the sell items slots. it is already too easy to sell things i didn't really want to.

I like slugs idea the best and would love to see this implamented the only problem is if you don't no what an items even generally worth you would have to do a lot more research than you do now.

Yeah, that's true but I do think that FFXI had a good idea of how buying/selling items should be run... it's much more annoying to buy/sell items in GW than it was in FFXI.

I not sure about this.... Guild Wars items aren't exactly auction worthy or nething because this is more of a PvP based game. In those final fantasy games were items extremely godly or something to be worth having an auction over?

1. Good idea
2. Maybe, there are probably ways to abuse, but it sounds like a better idea than the player shops
3.fine, though depends what percent commision is
4. Do I hear something... Yes it's called an auction house!

4 - its actually not an auction. the seller puts a fixed price on the item.
so when the buyer does a search, he can buy immediately.

auctions are a hassle. you bid. you wait. you get or don't get the item. you bid. you wait. bleh.

my proposal would work more like the consignment merchants in daoc. the main difference would be that instead of going from merch to merch to find an item. you go to any xunlai agent. search for the item. buy it. go back to playing the game.

if you want to sell an item. you can do same thing. search for it. see what others are selling it for then either price yours higher or lower depending on how fast you want to sell it or how much you think you can get for it.

it's not a "broken" auction. It would fix inflation since if I want to sell my 12-18 bow with nothing on it, I soon discover that even the most noobly players won't pay the requested 1 plat for it, so I have to lower the price. The selling community eventually finds / unconsciously agrees upon the prices for items. No more over selling or underselling and no more WTS WTS WTS WTS or WTB WTB WTB spams...

Getting rid of WTS and WTB... dear lord... it'd be the best thing that happened to guild wars since... guild wars.

People actually PLAYING THE GAME AGAIN. Wow. Going to cities and people actually talking (dist 18 of ascalon was hilarious tonight with things like "I'M SO GOTH MY WRISTS SLASH THEMSELVES!!").

If someone wants to pay 5k for your firey dragon sword of doom, then more power to them. Otherwise, you'll lower the price if it doesn't sell.

Great ideas but I am kind of fond with the auctioning system that was implemented in EQ on the PS2. In each town, there is an auctioning NPC that has a searching feature to find the exact item you want by bringing up items of relevance. You can set an item up for auction by only speaking to this person but you can access the auction house anywhere in town. The person auctioning does not even have to be present for the transactions to take place.
Steps in how that worked:
1. Cindy Sells-a-lot puts a Fiery Dragon Sword of Ownage on auction. The sword is removed from her inventory and minute fee deducted for auctioning purposes. Base price, buy out, and auction time are set.
2. She no longer has to worry about the auction because anyone who wants this item can find it easily.
3. Joe Schmoe wanders into Ascalon after a hard battle. He needs a Fiery Dragon Sword of Ownage to make his game better. So, he opens up the Auction menu and searches for his Uber sword. He finds the one Cindy is selling and places his bid on it.
4. Once the auction ends, the item is automatically placed in his Storage and the fee is deducted from his storage as well.

This would encourage Storage "garage sells" as everything must go for clearance prices, thus driving prices down because the market would be flooded with merchandise and there would not be enough people to buy or gold to buy it with. This would also encourage people to keep gold in their Storage boxes and leave spaces open for their items. I have no idea how failure to exchange would work if said buyer had a full inventory; maybe a forced no-bid status for those with full storage?

Eventhough I hated EQ, I found this feature very enjoyable.

I love this idea, I'll add a few points to this as well. The search option used by "Joe Schmoe" would need to atleast have some sort of Price range option (this I would have simply for those players who dont have 600k siting in the vaults to go on a spending spree).

An idea also on the commission. Have it be a percentage of the price charged for the item. (say 5-10%)

I perfer the idea of a "Community Flee Market" as opposed to an auction house because as was stated above waiting on your bid is very annoying.

Lastly i would like to say this. HECK YES LETS GET RID OF THE WTS, WTB SPAM.

I like the idea but I'd still like to have my private space for my own stuff that noone can get at. I don't want everyone looking at my storage space saying "are ya gonna sell that?" "how much for xxx?"

I like the idea, but there has to be an easy way to see, when you put an item up to sell, what others are selling it for to see whether your item is too high or too low, otherwise, I think it would just be like WTS and WTB.

Thats simple just do a search for the item your about to put up, find something simular or identicle and sell yours for cheaper. thats how it works in WOW's auction house which I know how everyone hates bringing other games into GW but its a good and viable system.
